Round table discussions in the context of the ‘Visitatie’ of the Brussels Bouwmeester Maitre Architecte (BMA), 2021, Citytools

Together with Citytools, Architecture Workroom Brussels has been commissioned to conduct a collective reflection (in the form of a ‘Visitatie’) on the function of the Brussels Bouwmeester Maitre Architecte (BMA). This mission consists of evaluating the way this function is exercised today and how it has evolved since its creation. We are working towards a list of recommendations addressed to the BMA team.

In view of this assignment, Citytools and Architecture Workroom Brussels organise a series of round tables in September, aiming to bring all of the stakeholders together who directly or indirectly are involved in the work of the BMA team. The aim of these roundtables is to exchange views on the work of the team, to share opinions, impressions, evaluations and experiences with the BMA.

Each round table conversation targets one specific category of stakeholders:

- Public clients/project owners: Tuesday 14/9 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm

- Private clients/project owners: Thursday 16/9 from 9.30 am to 12 pm

- Politicians and public authorities: Thursday 16/9 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm

- Design offices architecture, landscape, urban planning, etc.): Wednesday 29/9 from 9.30 am to 12 pm

- Civil society, academia, cultural sector, media (general public and specialized): Wednesday 29/9 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm

If you belong to one of the five target groups and would like to participate in a collective reflection on the functioning of team BMA, you can register using this form. The number of places per workshop is limited to 25 people. We therefore ask only one person per organisation to participate.

The roundtable discussions will be followed by a further series of workshops in October. During the workshops, certain aspects of the BMA's work will be examined in more detail, on the basis of concrete case studies, with the ultimate aim of formulating a number of recommendations.
