We are looking for enthusiastic interns (NL/EN) to support our team in August/September 2024.

Fancy working on projects on sustainable use of space, social infrastructure, energy districts or the transformation of landscapes into sponge landscapes? We are looking for enthusiastic interns to support our team during the summer.

The interns can contribute to the following projects, among others:

- The next Open Workroom

Following Operation Energy Neighbourhoods, we will open the doors of our workroom again in autumn 2025, this time on the theme of sponge landscapes.

For this, we are looking for a motivated person with a keen interest in open space and the transformation of the landscape to be more resilient to the effects of climate change. As an intern, you will work in the Landscape Team and support both substantive research (cartography, illustration, inventory, text) and the production of the exhibition - depending on your areas of expertise and interests.Would you like to read up a bit already? Then be sure to take a look at Weerbaar WaterlandWater+Land+Schap, the Living Lab Herk & Mombeek or the Land of Neerpede.

- Broedplekken

In the Social Infrastructure trajectory, we map out the opportunities for realising community infrastructure today: a school that also opens its sports hall after hours, a former church as a meeting place, a multifunctional community centre. In the project Broedplekken

we do this by bringing together people from the field, policy, civil society and other expertise in a learning environment, for which we regularly organise (public) design sessions. The primary tasks within this work track are co-preparing the sessions and listing and mapping reference projects.

When.  This is a part- or full-time internship from 11 August 2025, for a period of about 4-6 weeks - the exact duration and days are negotiable.

Where. At our Brussels office, Avenue Pacheco 34, 1000 Brussels.

Compensation. Compensation is available according to a volunteer contract, of €40 per day.

Interested? Then send a mail to info[@]architectureworkroom.eu with a short motivation letter, portfolio and CV no later than 24 June 2025. As the exam period is not far away, it is definitely ok to send a concise portfolio with 5 drawings and accompanying project text (short). Interviews will take place in the week of June 30 or July 7.
