Ruth Joos (° 1976, Dendermonde) has been working at VRT Radio since the beginning of the century. She began her career at VRT as a theatre critic for the then newly reformed Klara. For three years she presented the cultural programme for young people “Mecca” at Studio Brussel. In 2007 and 2008 she was jury president of the Golden Owl Prize for Literature. In 2007 she moved to Radio 1 where she first presented the cultural programme “Mezzo”, and from 2010 to 2013 the talk show “Joos”. Joos then contributed to “Studio de stad” on Canvas and to the Radio 1 programme on the 2014 World Cup. Since April 2015, she has been one of the presenters of the radio programme “The World Today”. She writes and interviews about literature for newspapers, magazines and cultural centres in Flanders and the Netherlands.
