Ellen Vergult

Ellen Vergult (° 1983, Bornem) is a bit of a rarity within AWB, because she has no educational background as an architect and / or engineer. Ellen graduated in 2006 with a bachelor in communication management, press and information option, from the Plantijn Hogeschool (now Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool) in Antwerp. She opted for a career in public relations. After her first steps with the Antwerp-based agency Making Waves, she and a business partner took the plunge in entrepreneurship in 2012 and founded MARNIX & ALLY, a PR and creative agency.

After five years at the helm, Ellen realised she no longer derived any satisfaction from commercial communication, nor from the fashion and beauty world. She wanted, and still wants, to actively contribute to the necessary social changes that we all face. She is pragmatic enough to realise that her support talent lie behind the scenes. She joined Architecture Workroom Brussels in 2018.

She initially worked as a personal assistant to management and her position soon evolved into close cooperation in the field of communication, reception and logistics at You Are Here 2018, the Brussels programme within IABR – 2018 + 2020 – THE MISSING LINK. The emphasis within Ellen's work now lies on people and project management. She is responsible for planning time and capacity across the projects as a whole and structures the coordination efforts within the team. With her people-oriented vision, she enjoys being the go-to person for employees within the team. In addition, she handles planning and organisational support for management.
