Regional Call IABR-Atelier OVK— Help shape the future of the East Flanders Core region
The East Flanders Core Region (OVK) expects a population increase of between 15 and 25% by 2050. In the IABR-Atelier East Flanders Core Region (OVK), the IABR and the Province of East Flanders opt to view this substantial increase first and foremost as an opportunity for new spatial policy, for using the associated challenges as a possibility for tackling the problem comprehensively, and on a larger scale. Moreover, innovative and creative solutions genuinely help achieve the high level of ambition of policy memoranda such as the Spatial Policy Plan for Flanders and the Provincial Key Memorandum (Provinciale Kernnota).

Three projects
Three projects will demonstrate how the region as a whole can learn from this atelier programme. This will enable the East Flanders Core Region to prepare for the expected population rise: bearing in mind the current productive landscape, focusing on the circular economy and intelligent mobility solutions.
Regional call
To this end the IABR–Atelier OVK is now launching a regional call, looking for innovative projects, pioneering partnerships or coalitions and an inspiring place where a regional spatial programme can be effectively developed. Want to know more, or have a project you would like to submit? If so, you can download the call below.
